LED Lights – Energy Efficient Lighting

Did you know?

  • Switching to energy efficient lighting could halve your household lighting costs.
  • LED lighting uses only 2-10 watts of electricity. (1/3rd to 1/30th of incandescent or CFL)
  • LEDs have a lifespan double that of typical fluorescent light bulbs and twenty times longer than incandescent light bulbs.
  • LED lights can last over 50,000 hrs. That’s over 10 Years!
  • An LED light contains no UV ray, so they wont attract insects as insects cannot see the light!

Our LED Lighting

Bamboo Direct is now importing and selling LED energy efficient lighting. We are concerned with the environmental and economical impact standard lighting has on the planet today. Our goal is to save you money, whilst helping save our environment. Our LED lights are Australian certified and are of the highest quality. We offer custom designs and solutions to the retail and
commercial consumer.

The future of lighting is transforming homes, gardens, architectural spaces, cars and boats. Since LEDs last longer than standard lights, they are ideal for hard to access areas such as high ceilings, outdoor areas, buildings, signs etc. Emergency, General and Decorative lighting needs are all covered with LED modules. The vast array of colours available make LED Lighting the future of interior design.

How LED energy efficient light bulbs work.

LED Lights are generally made up of multiple LED’s all joined together working as one unit. Therefore if one LED stops working it will have very minimal to no impact on the light being emitted, whereas once a conventional light has any problem it ceases to work completely. LED’s have a lifetime estimate of 60,000 to 100,000 hours, compared with the 1,000 hour lifetime of incandescent light bulbs and the 8,000 hour lifetime for compact fluorescent lamps. And even after they reach that limit, they will simply become progressively dimmer rather than immediately burning out.

The LED Light options we have.

Bamboo Direct has LED lighting options suitable to all your needs. We stock LED energy efficient downlights, bulbs, tubes and highbays. Any different LED lights we can also source for you. Our LEDs support bayonet cap, Edison screw, MR16/MR 11 (2 pin), GU10 and G13 (2 pin).

Warranty

Bamboo Direct LED lights have a 3 year replacement warranty on faulty goods. This is

certainly better than any fluorescent product which offers no warranty and lists a 20% failure rate as

satisfactory.

Benefits of LED Lighting

  • Most efficient lighting available
  • Globes last 10 years or more!
  • Requires less maintenance
  • Will help you meet BASIX standards for efficiency in new homes.
  • Energy Efficient up to 90% savings
  • Produces no harmful UV rays
  • Reduces your carbon footprint
  • Contain no hazardous mercury
  • Will save you money
  • High impact resistance

LED Light Safety

LED light bulbs are safer than standard globes. LED’s use low voltage DC current within their own circuit, making them safer to work with. An LED light only loses a tiny amount of energy due to heat and so little energy used. LED light bulbs work cooler, which means no more burnt finger tips or burnt down houses. They are extremely durable with a solid frame, therefore, no broken glass or mess.

LED Illumination

LED light bulbs work faster. They illuminate to their full brightness in just microseconds; whereas incandescent must warm up first. LEDs are a safer selection especially when reaction time is a factor, Like when your behind a car that slams on its brakes.

LED Lighting and the environment

LED’s are mercury free, they pose no immediate threat if they are broken and they do not require hazardous waste disposal. All of our LED’s are RoHS compliant to ensure the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. This directive bans the placing on the Australian Market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium.

Change Now

In February 2007, The Australian Government enacted a law that will ban the sale of most incandescent bulbs by 2011. Until recently the only alternative we had been given was to use compact fluorescent bulbs which contain hazardous levels of mercury. LED lights are a far cleaner and safer choice.
